Now hiring at Project Ninja

Ninja Coach & Party Lead

  • Part-time
  • Weekends
  • Bowmanville, ON

Project Ninja is a youth ninja and obstacle course program for kids ages 5 to 12. We run classes, camps and birthday parties, and we're looking for an adult who wants to lead them.

The real job

What this job actually looks like

Yes, you'll teach kids how to rope swing, climb and get over the warped wall. That's maybe half of it. The other half:

  • The kid who falls in front of their friends, starts crying and says they quit. You help them get back up and try again.
  • The kid who's too shy to join and hangs by the wall. You find a way to bring them in without forcing it.
  • The kid who won't listen no matter what. You stay calm, keep the group safe and keep the energy up.
  • The parent who isn't handling it well. You can have that conversation kindly and confidently.
In ninja, the obstacles are how kids learn to fail, try again and believe they can do hard things. We need someone who understands that.

Is this you?

You're probably a fit if you

  • Are 18 or older and love working with kids
  • Have energy for days and aren't afraid to jump, climb and play right alongside them
  • Stay calm when things get loud or emotional
  • Can lead a group on your own and run a birthday party start to finish (with support staff helping you)
  • Have experience with kids in coaching, teaching, childcare, camps or sport (a bonus, not a must)

The checklist

What you need

  • Vulnerable Sector Check (or willingness to get one)
  • Standard First Aid & CPR (or we'll help you get certified)
  • Availability on Saturdays and/or Sundays, plus some weekday afternoons

The good stuff

What you get

  • Competitive pay for the right person, with a raise once you're trained to lead parties on your own, plus a bonus for every party you lead
  • Full training on our curriculum, party flow and safety systems
  • A team that cares a lot about kids
